Introduction Post

Hello, my name is Allison and I am a child of the Living God, covered and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ and desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I don't remember the day I gave my life to Christ.  I've done it so many times before it actually, "took".  I say that because I accepted Christ at various points in my life when I wasn't ready and didn't understand what kind of commitment was required on my part to be a bride for the Lord.

It actually took getting married for me to see how to develop a lasting relationship built on trust, love, and understanding.  It was then that I began to understand the way in which I needed to be able to become saved by the grace of God.  I am able to trust Him, love Him, and I'm working with Him on developing a lasting relationship and understanding His plan for my life. I have never had a greater life than when I finally accepted God for the right reasons, with the right intentions, and the desire and fire for Him and His Word.

I have been married to my husband for eight wonderful years.  I couldn't ask for a better, more loving, supportive, and caring husband.  The way he loves me, and he loves me hard, simply amazes me.  I'm very fortunate.

I have my Masters from Liberty University from Lynchburg, Virginia.  I focused on Marital and Family Therapy.  I have 13 years of clinical experience as a counselor/therapist and have worked with the following populations: foster children, children and adults with developmental disabilities such as Autism, mental retardation, and other developmental challenges, opiate addicts, and the homeless.  I have a passion for my ability to counsel someone through a trial and I chose a Christian university because I believe that healing comes from Christ and I want to be a solider for Christ.  Now when I counsel someone I don't just rely on psychological therapies/theories, but also the unwavering power of Christ to deliver someone from his/her situation.

It is my intention to use this blog daily to not only share things that happen in my life, but to also share with you what God has for us as His children.  I hope to see people start following this blog so we can have a conversation.  There will be vlogs (where I blog by a recorded video).

This blog is going to be my outlet and I hope we can have some good conversations.  Welcome to Pressing For Greatness.  I invite you to follow this blog and join me as I press for the greatness God has for me.

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Psalm 116:1
